We are seeking an experienced Technical Fleet Manager to oversee the reliability, performance, and technical operational support governance for the NSW TLS passenger fleets, specifically the Waratah, SGT, and Millennium trains. This role involves leading a team of Technical Fleet Specialists and Fleet Operations Support Officers.
Reporting directly to the National Manager - Fleet Technical Support, this position is based at our Auburn Maintenance Centre. It offers senior technical leadership for fleet operations, aiming to ensure safe, compliant, and highly reliable rollingstock outcomes while driving improvements in performance and profitability. A key aspect of this role is aligning local fleet technical activities with the National Integrated Operations Centre (NIOC) frameworks and broader TLS engineering standards across states. You will serve as the primary interface between TLS Operations, Engineering streams (Downer RTS), and associated support functions.
Experience & Qualifications:
- A Mechanical or Electrical Tertiary Engineering qualification, or a trade qualification combined with significant industry experience.
- Experience managing cross-functional teams involved in rolling stock design, build, and/or maintenance.
- Preferably 10 years of experience in a rolling stock design, build, test, commissioning, and/or maintenance environment.
- Experience with the maintenance of complex electrical and mechanical systems, the use of PC-based fault diagnostic tools, and the implementation of reliability programs within the rolling stock, asset management, or heavy maintenance industry.
- Experience engaging with customers on fleet performance and reliability matters.
