Are you a Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineer early in your career, seeking to enhance your technical proficiencies in asset integrity and infrastructure?

This is a notable opportunity to join a collaborative Engineering Support team. You will acquire practical experience in inspecting and evaluating critical infrastructure assets throughout Western Australia. Working under the guidance of experienced engineers and inspectors, you will receive mentorship and gain exposure to various inspection technologies, while contributing to the ongoing reliability and performance of essential infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with field inspections and condition assessments of infrastructure assets.
• Gather and record data on asset conditions for analysis and reporting purposes.
• Support inspection activities utilising a range of technologies, including CCTV, NDT equipment, ROVs, and drones.
• Aid experienced inspectors with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) activities, such as Ultrasonic Thickness Testing (UT), Dry Film Thickness (DFT), and other inspection methods.
• Contribute to the preparation of technical reports and inspection documentation.
• Assist in the planning and coordination of inspection programs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Adhere to safe working practices in both office and field environments, including confined spaces and working at heights as may be required.

About You

We are seeking an individual who demonstrates a strong desire to learn and is comfortable working in both field and office settings. You may possess prior experience in engineering, maintenance, inspections, or construction, or be looking to transition into an asset integrity role.

To be successful, you will ideally possess:

• A Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
• An interest in asset integrity, inspections, or engineering infrastructure.
• Exposure to engineering drawings, technical documentation, or QA/QC processes.
• A keen attention to detail and analytical capabilities.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• A willingness to acquire new inspection techniques and technologies.
• A current Australian C Class Driver’s Licence.
• A commitment to safe working practices in operational environments.

Desirable

Experience or exposure in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Asset inspections or QA/QC
• Non-Destructive Testing (NDT)
• Corrosion or materials engineering
• Mining, oil & gas, utilities, or heavy industry
• Working at Heights or Confined Space certification
