Clicks IT Recruitment (VIC) is partnering with a global technology leader that develops and delivers advanced mining technology solutions for challenging operational environments. We are seeking a hands-on Test & Evaluation Engineer who enjoys field work. This is a unique opportunity to work across software, hardware, communications systems, and autonomous mining technology, validating solutions deployed on heavy equipment in remote mining environments.

This role is primarily based in Perth, WA, with regular travel to site (typically at least once per month) for testing, evaluation, and validation activities on live equipment and technology platforms. The work type is full-time and remote.

The Opportunity As part of a global engineering and testing team, you will play a key role in ensuring new software releases, hardware integrations, and autonomous technology solutions perform safely and effectively in real-world conditions. You will be involved in test planning and deployment through to fault investigation, system validation, and issue resolution. If you enjoy troubleshooting complex technical challenges and observing technology operate in the field, this role offers a blend of engineering, software validation, and operational exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test plans for software releases, system upgrades, and new product features.
• Install, integrate, and validate hardware and software solutions on heavy mobile equipment.
• Conduct on-machine testing of autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.
• Perform field testing and evaluation activities at remote mine sites.
• Identify, analyse, and document software, hardware, and systems issues.
• Work with development and engineering teams to drive corrective actions and improvements.
• Troubleshoot communications, networking, and machine-control systems.
• Collect and analyse test data to support validation activities.
• Support customer demonstrations, trials, and training activities.
• Contribute to system requirements, feature validation, and product improvement initiatives.

About You We are looking for someone who enjoys working in both office and field environments and is comfortable travelling to remote sites on a regular basis. You will ideally bring experience in one or more of the following:

• Software testing, validation, or quality assurance.
• Systems integration or commissioning.
• Test engineering within mining, automation, defence, transport, robotics, heavy industry, or industrial technology environments.
• Hardware-in-the-loop or real-world systems testing.
• Mining equipment technology, machine automation, or control systems.
• Wireless communications, networking, or telemetry systems.

Highly Regarded

• Experience working with autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles.
• Exposure to mining technology or heavy mobile equipment.
• Experience testing integrated software and hardware platforms.
• Knowledge of functional safety, machine control, or operational technology environments.
• Engineering or Computer Science qualifications.
