Trainee Accountant

James Ryan Partners Pty Ltd is seeking an Accounting graduate, or an individual nearing completion of their accounting studies, to join our expanding team. This role offers a significant opportunity to collaborate closely with senior accountants within a close-knit team, providing direct, hands-on on-the-job training.

Your Role: As a junior Accountant, you will participate in various accounting, compliance, and administrative tasks, acquiring practical experience under the direct mentorship of senior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enter transactions and establish accounts within accounting software, such as Xero and MYOB.
• Assist with non-complex tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
• Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
• Prepare organised and accurate working papers.
• Engage in communication with team members.

What You'll Bring:

• A completed or nearly completed accounting course.
• A strong focus on detail, excellent numeracy capabilities, and a proactive attitude.
• Effective time management and task prioritisation skills.
• Competence in communication and teamwork.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook is an advantage.
• Exposure to Xero, MYOB, or Quickbooks is an advantage.
