Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers (WesCEF) is offering a Mechanical Engineering Vacation Program for 2026/2027. This 12-week paid program allows students to apply theoretical knowledge to real business challenges, gain practical operational experience, and receive dedicated mentoring and support. The program takes place at WesCEF's world-class production facilities in Kwinana, providing hands-on experience without the need for fly-in, fly-out arrangements. Mechanical Engineering disciplines are invited to apply for placements beginning in late November 2026.

Program Details Applications are now open for Mechanical Engineering students in their penultimate year of study to participate in this 12-week paid Vacation Program. The program commences in late November 2026 and concludes in mid-February 2027.

Through this program, you will join an organisation recognised as a safe, reliable, and innovative industry leader. You will have the opportunity to:

WesCEF aims to provide comprehensive support, tailored training, guidance, and a launchpad for a successful career.

Your placement could be at one of the following operational facilities in Kwinana:

• CSBP AAN (production of ammonia gas, ammonium nitrate solid and liquid, and emulsion products)
• Kleenheat (gas production - LNG and LPG)
• Australian Gold Reagents (sodium cyanide production - liquid & solid)
• CSBP Fertilisers (a range of liquid and solid fertiliser and nutrient products)
• WesCEF Technical and Operational Services

• Implement and improve technical skills and knowledge in a hands-on engineering work environment.

• Work closely with a dedicated mentor for guidance throughout the program.

Some students may be offered a cadetship with WesCEF, which involves part-time employment during their final year of university and can serve as a potential pathway to the graduate program. Cadetships are not guaranteed.
