Administration Officer - Reliever

Rockhampton Hospital is seeking an Administration Officer - Reliever to join their team on a full-time, onsite basis in Rockhampton.
This role offers a unique opportunity to gain comprehensive insight into the operational flow of various hospital units. As an Administration Officer - Reliever, you will rotate through different departments, providing essential administrative support and contributing to the smooth functioning of services. Each day presents a chance to expand your understanding of diverse medical specialities and the broader hospital environment.
About the Role:
- Provide efficient, high-quality administrative support across multiple positions within the Rockhampton Hospital Administrative Support and Development Unit, ensuring continuity of service.
- Utilise sound judgment for workload prioritisation, maintaining accuracy and delivering responsible, reliable work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effectively use hospital information systems, ensuring data accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and support for clinical and management decision-making.
- Support medical and nursing staff with administrative tasks including reception duties, documentation, filing, audits, and patient record management.
About You:
- Ability to safely perform physical duties of the role, including lifting, bending, squatting, ladder use, and transporting files/charts using trolleys as required.
- Possess strong problem-solving skills, with the capacity to use initiative and sound judgment in situations where procedures or precedents are not clearly defined.
- Proficiency in computer systems and Microsoft Office applications, specifically Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-focused administrative support.
- Well-developed administrative and organisational skills to support clinical and non-clinical teams in a busy hospital environment.
About Rockhampton Hospital:
Rockhampton Hospital is a 305-bed facility serving as the primary referral hospital for Central Queensland. It now offers integrated cancer care services within a new building equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment. The hospital is accredited for training in emergency medicine, general surgery, anaesthetics, intensive care, general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, and psychiatry.
What We Offer:
Total remuneration value of up to $100,585 p.a. includes:
- An hourly rate between $39.98 - $44.46 p.h.
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- 17.5% leave loading
