Herbert Smith Freehills Kramer is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our Brisbane Projects, Energy & Infrastructure practice. This full-time, 8-month contract role, with the possibility of extension, is based 100% onsite in our Brisbane office. You will provide essential administrative support to a high-performing team of lawyers and will be mentored by Legal Assistants within the group. This position offers variety in daily tasks, opportunities to build relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders, and learning and development opportunities to support your career progression.
What you’ll do:
As an Administrative Assistant, you will undertake a range of administrative duties, including but not limited to:
- Supporting with diary management, which involves scheduling team and client meetings, and booking internal meeting rooms and external locations such as restaurants.
- Assisting with document management by creating and editing documents using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Managing hard copy documents through printing, scanning, photocopying, and archiving tasks, as well as handling incoming mail.
- Contributing to financial management by reconciling expenses and assisting Legal Assistants with client billing.
What you’ll bring:
- Previous experience in an administration role.
- A committed and reliable work ethic, demonstrating enthusiasm and proactivity in the workplace.
- A professional approach, evident in your written and verbal communication style.
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to remain organised while managing competing priorities.
- A customer service approach, ideally demonstrated through previous experience in a retail or hospitality role.
- An innovative mindset, curious about AI and emerging technologies.
