Picnic Creek State School is seeking an individual who is friendly, approachable, and professional. The ability to remain calm under pressure and effectively manage competing priorities is essential.

Join our front office team and contribute significantly to the daily operations of a busy and vibrant primary school. This role offers a rewarding opportunity within a dynamic environment where each day presents unique challenges and tasks. If you enjoy working with people, excel in a fast-paced setting, and are dedicated to supporting positive student and staff outcomes, we encourage you to apply.

About Picnic Creek State School: Opened in 2018, Picnic Creek State School is one of four new state schools established in Queensland. Our $40 million facility features an innovative design that re-imagines traditional classrooms, incorporating contemporary learning approaches, flexible learning options, all-weather outdoor teaching spaces, and integrated technology. Our highly motivated staff are committed to delivering fun, engaging, and effective learning experiences, grounded in literature-rich, skills-oriented programs tailored to age-appropriate pedagogies. We strongly believe in the vital role of family and community relationships in student success, and we actively foster open communication to keep students and families informed and engaged. We welcome your ideas and feedback to ensure we work collaboratively towards our shared goal: 'every student realising their potential'.

About the Role: This position involves providing administrative support to the Head of Special Education Services (HOSES) and assisting with various front office functions to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school.

The successful applicant will be a collaborative team member capable of working independently when required. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administering student medications.
  • Providing high-quality customer service to students, staff, and families.
  • Undertaking a variety of general administrative duties to support daily school operations.
  • Applying day-to-day independence in determining work schedules and sequences within a well-defined environment, with regular managerial supervision.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., school and departmental staff, parents, students, and community members); providing information and advice in line with school policies and/or Principal directives; and demonstrating empathy, emotional understanding, and support.

Please refer to the Role Description for a comprehensive list of responsibilities.

  • Attach a 1-page written statement detailing how your achievements and capabilities meet the requirements of the role.
  • Attach evidence of the mandatory requirements outlined in the attached role description.

Your resume should be a snapshot of your professional experience. Utilise the 1-page written statement to provide information supporting how your capabilities are suited to a busy primary school front office.
