Job Description

Administrator (People & Culture)

The Shift People Pty Ltd is partnering with a respected not-for-profit organisation to recruit an Administrator for their People & Culture team. This is a 6-month fixed-term contract role with an immediate commencement. The position is suited to an individual who thrives on process-driven tasks, excels at organisation, and has a keen eye for detail. While prior HR experience is welcome, it is not essential. We seek a proactive, tech-savvy administrator eager to learn.

About the Role

Within a busy People & Culture team, you will be instrumental in ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new employees, meeting compliance obligations, maintaining accurate employee records, and providing timely support for day-to-day People & Culture inquiries. A significant portion of your responsibilities will involve using ELMO, preparing documentation, managing employee records, coordinating compliance activities, and addressing employee queries across the organisation. This is a high-volume administrative role requiring the ability to manage multiple priorities with exceptional accuracy.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating employee onboarding and induction processes
  • Completing employment compliance checks, including Working With Children Checks and Police Checks
  • Maintaining compliance trackers and employee records
  • Preparing employment documentation and processing employee changes within ELMO
  • Entering and maintaining employee information within payroll systems
  • Responding to People & Culture inbox enquiries relating to policies, leave entitlements, and general employee questions
  • Supporting the wider People & Culture team with various administrative tasks
  • Adhering to established procedures and proactively utilising process manuals and guides to find solutions

About You

You will possess a genuine enjoyment for administration, understanding the importance of detail. You will also bring:

  • Strong administration experience within a busy environment
  • Outstanding attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Confidence in learning and using HR or business systems; experience with ELMO will be highly regarded
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, seeking answers and utilising available resources before escalating
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • The ability to manage competing priorities while remaining calm and organised

Previous experience in Human Resources or People & Culture is advantageous but not essential. If you are a capable administrator who enjoys systems, processes, and supporting people, we encourage you to apply.

What's on Offer?

  • Immediate start
  • Full-time, 5 days per week
  • 6-month fixed-term contract
  • Hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum of two days per week in the Tweed Heads office and up to three days working from home
  • Opportunity to work from a brand-new office on Wharf Street from mid-July
  • Supportive and collaborative People & Culture team
  • Opportunity to gain valuable experience within a purpose-driven not-for-profit organisation

If you are an organised administrator who enjoys working behind the scenes to ensure smooth operations, please apply. This role is moving quickly, and interviews will be arranged as suitable applications are received.
