Job Description
The Afternoon Operations Team Member 2IC will be responsible for executing accurate and efficient inbound and outbound warehouse activities within the Home Delivery Centre (HDC) to support HDC objectives and serve end-user customers. This is a practical role, and your experience and skills in a similar capacity will be valuable. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing leadership and acting as a point of escalation for the Operations team, supporting team member safety, capability, and performance through work instructions, coaching, training, and regular feedback.
- Ensuring accurate and efficient delivery centre operations, including timely receipt, picking, and delivery of stock to the correct locations. This involves accurate goods receipt from suppliers, store replenishment, customer pick-up and delivery, records and invoice management, data integrity, and cyclical stocktakes and ad hoc counts.
- Accurately labelling and dispatching customer deliveries to Home Delivery Carriers.
- Adhering to compliance and policy requirements, with a specific focus on site standards, safe work practices, and incident reporting.
- Following Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safe operating procedures to maintain product integrity and workplace safety.
- Collaborating as a member of the HDC team to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Achieving efficient storage utilisation and accuracy in warehouse picking and put away through effective use of Warehouse Management Systems and other tools.
- Monitoring supplier chain of responsibility and escalating non-compliance according to required standards.
- Continuously enhancing skills and knowledge via available online platforms and active participation in development opportunities.
- Undertaking other tasks as assigned by the HDC Operations Team Leader or HDC Manager, based on your knowledge and experience.
This role operates on a Thursday to Monday roster from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Qualifications
Your motivation, drive, and reliability are essential for success in this role. You should be an experienced operations-focused individual, holding a forklift licence, and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume RF-enabled warehousing environment. The following skills and attributes are also required:
- A minimum education level of Year 12 and/or relevant operational warehouse experience.
- At least 3 years of warehouse experience.
- Understanding of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Familiarity with Kanban and Lean methodologies.
- MHE Licences: LF (High reach) and LO (Stock picker).
- Availability for the Thursday to Monday roster, 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
