This role presents an opportunity to join Vast Furniture and Home in Hervey Bay, QLD, as an Assistant Manager. It is a full-time position designed to advance your retail management skills while offering schedule flexibility. You will be integral to supporting the Store Manager and ensuring the seamless operation of the store. Your contributions will be vital in providing exceptional customer service, upholding store standards, and guiding a team towards sales targets and business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Store Manager in daily store operations and management.
• Oversee staff scheduling, training, and development to foster a motivated and capable team.
• Manage stock levels, inventory control, and merchandise presentation to maximise visual appeal and sales.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and professionally address customer inquiries and complaints.
• Achieve and surpass sales targets through effective team leadership and customer engagement.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and health and safety regulations.
• Monitor store cleanliness and maintenance standards to maintain a welcoming shopping environment.
• Assist with visual merchandising and promotional displays.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and team motivation initiatives.

• Demonstrated experience in a retail management or supervisory capacity, ideally within furniture, home furnishings, or a comparable retail setting.
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
• Excellent customer service skills and a genuine enthusiasm for delivering outstanding service.
• A sales-focused approach with the capacity to identify opportunities and drive revenue.
• Proficient organisational and time management skills.
• Familiarity with retail systems and point-of-sale technology.
• Sound understanding of inventory management and stock control principles.
• Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and public holidays, as required.
