About the Organisation: Yamatji Marlpa Aboriginal Corporation (YMAC) serves as the Native Title Representative Body (NTRB), providing native title and related services across the Pilbara, Mid West, Murchison, and Gascoyne regions of Western Australia. YMAC is governed by a First Nations board of directors, representing various native title groups, each with distinct languages, cultures, traditions, and protocols. YMAC's service offerings encompass native title claim and future act representation, heritage services, executive office support, community and economic development assistance, land administration, and natural resource management support. About the Role: YMAC is seeking a full-time Business Support Officer for a permanent contract to join the Prescribed Body Corporate (PBC) Executive Office (PBC EO) team at our Perth office. The PBC EO team delivers governance and capacity building services to prescribed body corporates in the Pilbara and Yamatji regions.
The Business Support Officer will provide support to the Project Manager and Project Coordinators. Responsibilities include assisting in the preparation and follow-up of PBC meetings, and contributing to the development of policy and procedures for the PBC EO team. This role involves working within a small team, requiring flexibility, collaborative work across various locations, the ability to perform in pressured and sensitive environments, and occasional work with minimal supervision. Respect for confidentiality is essential.
About You: You are a self-motivated individual with a solutions-focused approach, capable of managing competing priorities effectively. You possess excellent attention to detail and experience in delivering high-quality administrative support. This includes producing written documents, maintaining records and databases, organising meeting travel and logistics, supporting meetings from planning to implementation, and providing back-up reception duties as needed. You value collaborative teamwork and building positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders. You are flexible, use initiative, maintain confidentiality, and can work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and culturally respectful environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of two years' experience in a similar administrative role.
- Previous experience in corporate governance will be looked upon favourably.
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated computer literacy in MS Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise your own work to agreed deadlines and work under pressure in a busy environment.
- Excellent attention to detail.
