Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and engage customers in a warm and genuine manner.
  • Ask pertinent questions to understand customer reading preferences.
  • Recommend books with enthusiasm, knowledge, and sincerity.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet sales targets.
  • Promote and sell the monthly Book of the Month and VIP offers.
  • Function as part of a supportive, enjoyable, and high-performing team.
  • Contribute to store presentation, ensuring stores are organised, easily navigable, and clean. This includes assisting with stock management, such as processing deliveries, conducting product lookups, and stocking shelves.

Requirements:

  • English literacy skills.
  • Capacity to remain on the floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift boxes of stock weighing up to 15kg.
  • Capability to ascend a ladder.
  • Ability to push/pull a stock trolley and assist with moving equipment, such as display tables, when necessary.
  • Flexible availability, including late night trade and weekends. Availability throughout December is essential.

Why Join QBD Books?

  • Become part of a genuine Australian success story.
  • Work alongside individuals who are passionate about their roles.
  • Access industry-leading training through our ACE program.
  • Benefit from generous staff discounts on all products.
  • Recognise the significant positive impact of your work and reading on customer wellbeing.

We are committed to inspiring readers and positively impacting lives, one book, one conversation, one customer at a time.

If this resonates with you, we encourage you to apply. Please submit a resume and cover letter detailing your relevant experience, your preferred store, and your passion for people, sales, and reading via Seek or at jobs.qbd.com.au.
