Western Power is seeking a Commercial Officer to join our team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is based onsite in Perth WA, with a competitive salary including 13.5% super.

As a Commercial Officer, you will be instrumental in powering critical energy market operations through your meticulous attention to detail and dedication to providing accurate market data. You will play a pivotal role in processing exception-based service orders and market transaction data, ensuring the timely dissemination of metering information, the upkeep of standing data, and the delivery of market responses essential for industry continuity.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Accurately process exception-based service orders and market transactions within stipulated timeframes, upholding high standards of data quality and compliance.
  • Investigate and resolve exceptions, employing sound judgement and problem-solving acumen to efficiently identify and address issues.
  • Support the publication and maintenance of standing data, ensuring its reliability, completeness, and fitness for purpose.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and plan your workload to meet daily, weekly, and monthly operational deadlines.
  • Cultivate robust working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, delivering responsive, professional service and clear communication.
  • Identify opportunities for process, system, and work practice enhancements, contributing to improved outcomes through practical and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate within the team, sharing knowledge, supporting colleagues, and fostering a positive and accountable work environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to safe work practices and actively contributing to a safety-first culture.

What You Bring:

  • Experience in an administrative, operational, or data-focused role, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and maintain accuracy in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven experience working with high-volume data and systems, showcasing a keen eye for detail and a commitment to data quality and compliance.
  • A customer-centric approach, with the ability to build positive relationships, communicate effectively, and provide responsive support to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-driven orientation, taking ownership of your work, meeting deadlines, and consistently seeking avenues for process and outcome improvement.
