The West Australian Institute of Further Studies (WAIFS), a Registered Training Organisation situated in Perth, is recognised for delivering quality education to domestic and international students. As WAIFS expands, we are looking for Trainers and Assessors for full-time or part-time positions. These roles involve delivering and assessing the CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services. Positions are available Monday to Sunday, between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., with immediate commencement possible.

About the Role We are seeking experienced Vocational Education Trainers with the necessary qualifications and relevant industry background to effectively deliver these courses. The successful candidate will possess strong communication abilities, adopt a student-centred approach, and be committed to upholding high training standards. This specific role is part-time, operating four days per week, with classes scheduled for Thursdays and Fridays. The position requires visits to work placement locations, necessitating professionalism and strong industry connections, which are desirable.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • CHC52025 Diploma of Community Services and/or CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services, or equivalent.
  • TAE40116/TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or higher).
  • 3-5 years of work experience in a relevant role within the Community Sector.
  • Understanding of the international student market and experience supporting international students.

Desirable Experience

  • Training and assessing students in vocational education settings.

Key Responsibilities

Training Delivery

  • Deliver theoretical and practical training sessions.
  • Engage students through interactive activities such as simulations, role-plays, and case studies.

Assessment & Student Support

  • Conduct assessments to gauge students' comprehension of community service principles.
  • Provide constructive feedback to ensure students achieve competency.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress, and assessment outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain strong industry links and conduct work-based training assessments.

Compliance & Professional Development

  • Ensure all training and assessments comply with ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority) standards.
  • Update course materials to reflect legislative changes and industry best practices.
  • Stay abreast of developments within the community services sector.
  • Undertake ongoing professional development to maintain industry currency and training qualifications.
