Science and STEM Laboratory Manager
Flex People Group is seeking a full-time, onsite Science and STEM Laboratory Manager for a leading independent girls' school located in the Eastern Suburbs. This role offers an attractive remuneration package.

About the Role The Science and STEM Laboratory Manager will oversee the effective leadership, coordination, and daily operations of the Science laboratories. This includes supervising laboratory support functions and providing technical assistance to Science staff. The position is crucial in supporting the delivery of high-quality Science teaching and learning by ensuring practical activities are prepared safely, efficiently, and within required timeframes.
The manager will also support the operation of Science and STEM learning spaces, assisting teaching staff in integrating technology, innovation, and inquiry-based learning into the Science curriculum.
Key Selection Criteria The successful applicant will demonstrate:
- Experience in leading, coordinating, or supervising a team.
- The ability to work effectively within a team, manage competing priorities, and adapt to evolving demands.
- A solution-oriented approach with the capacity to implement improvements and streamline processes and systems.
- Experience working in a science laboratory environment and with relevant technologies.
- Familiarity with using and supporting educational technologies and emerging tools within a Science and STEM context.
- A strong understanding of laboratory safety, including chemical handling, storage, and disposal protocols.
- Experience in preparing and maintaining risk assessments for practical scientific work.
- Knowledge of OH&S legislation, regulations, and codes of practice applicable to school laboratories.
- Relevant qualifications in Science, Laboratory Science, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child safety and child safety compliance requirements.
