Dispatch Coordinator
Phoenix Steel Sales Pty Ltd is seeking a full-time Dispatch Coordinator to join their onsite team in Welshpool.
The Dispatch Coordinator is responsible for the efficient and accurate movement of stock into and out of the Phoenix Metalform facility. This role involves coordinating inbound stock from the factory and external suppliers, managing outbound shipping and customer pick-ups, and planning deliveries and transport routing to ensure orders reach customers on time and in full.
This position is central to inventory accuracy, yard organisation, and Chain of Responsibility compliance. It requires close, day-to-day liaison with the internal sales and production teams, transport drivers, and customers. Success in this role depends on a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to keep the dispatch operation running smoothly under changing daily priorities.
Job Functions:
- Coordinate inbound stock receipted from the factory and from external suppliers, ensuring goods are checked, recorded, and put away correctly.
- Coordinate outbound stock, including customer shipments and customer/carrier pick-ups.
- Plan and schedule outbound deliveries, including route planning for the company’s transport fleet to maximise efficiency.
- Load and secure trucks safely and in accordance with load restraint requirements.
- Maintain inventory accuracy through accurate receipting, picking, dispatch, and stock adjustments, and participate in stocktakes and cycle counts.
- Complete all dispatch and inventory data entry accurately and in a timely manner.
- Liaise daily with the internal sales and production teams to align dispatch priorities with customer and production requirements.
- Liaise with transport drivers (internal and external carriers) to coordinate pick-ups, deliveries, and timing.
- Maintain the yard and dispatch area in a clean, organised, and efficient layout to support safe and productive operations.
- Ensure all activities comply with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, including load mass, dimension, restraint, and driver fatigue requirements.
- Prepare and maintain dispatch documentation, including delivery dockets, consignment notes, and supporting paperwork.
- Identify and report opportunities to improve dispatch, transport, and yard efficiency.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- Current High Risk Work Licence – Forklift (LF) – essential.
- Demonstrated experience in dispatch, warehousing, logistics, or a similar operational role.
- Working knowledge of inventory / ERP systems and competent data entry skills.
- Understanding of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and load restraint requirements (desirable).
- Current driver’s licence.
