Distribution Centre Operations Manager
Spendless Shoes, a prominent Australian shoe retailer with over 200 stores nationwide and a portfolio including Spendless, Wildfire, Vybe, Everflex, and Olympus Shoes, is seeking an experienced Distribution Centre Operations Manager. We are looking for an individual who shares our passion and drive for store growth and delivering excellent customer experiences.
This full-time, onsite role is based at our National Distribution Centre in Gillman, South Australia. The salary offered is up to $120,000 base.
The Role
The Distribution Centre (DC) Operations Manager is responsible for the efficient operation of the Spendless Shoes National Distribution Centre. This includes ensuring the timely, accurate, and cost-effective movement of inventory, leading the workforce, managing resources, and driving continuous improvement. The role involves fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including supply chain partners and logistics providers, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and budgetary constraints. Balancing operational demands with people leadership is essential for success in this role, contributing to Spendless's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
- Labour and Workload Management: Assess workload to determine staffing needs, adapting schedules and leave to meet demand, particularly during peak periods.
- Inventory Management: Ensure stock levels are accurate, manage replenishments efficiently, and conduct regular stocktakes to maintain inventory integrity.
- Performance Tracking: Regularly track DC performance and report insights to senior management, offering data-driven recommendations.
- Innovation: Cultivate a culture of improvement, encouraging the team to propose cost-saving and process enhancement ideas.
- E-commerce Fulfillment: Manage timely fulfillment of online orders, optimising resources to ensure all orders are dispatched within 24 hours.
- Leadership and Development: Lead and develop DC staff, conducting regular meetings and reviews to promote a positive, aligned team environment.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring operational alignment and open communication.
- Budget and Cost Management: Oversee the DC budget, implementing cost-saving strategies and ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Health and Safety Compliance: Maintain a safe work environment, adhering to safety regulations and promptly addressing any incidents.
