About the Role
As delegated by the Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the implementation of the ELC curriculum in consultation with the Educational Leader.
- Mentoring and supporting colleagues to achieve strategic objectives.
- Working closely with the Educational Leader/Room Leader and Team to assess children and evaluate learning.
- Collaborating and communicating with parents and families.
- Planning, preparing, and implementing appropriate learning programs and environments for children, guiding professional practice based on the Australian EYLF.
- Operating within a legal and ethical framework, aligned with the NQS and national regulations.
- Attending staff meetings and actively participating in critical reflections on professional practice, pedagogical strategies, ELC philosophy and curriculum, QIP, children’s learning and development, and the Planning and Assessment Cycle.

About You
We are seeking an individual who:
- Is a committed Christian with a deep desire to serve Jesus Christ as Lord.
- Demonstrates a passion for biblically-based Christian education.
- Is committed to the Christian ethos of the College and the Statement of Faith.
- Holds a personal commitment to the Emmaus Vision, Mission, and Values that underpin the delivery of Christian-based education.
- Holds a Diploma in Children’s Services approved by ACECQA, or is working towards one.
- Possesses an understanding and knowledge of the National Quality Framework standards and the Early Years Learning Framework.
- Can cope effectively under pressure in emergency or stressful situations.
- Has a thorough understanding and implementation of a play-based curriculum.
- Has competent computer skills for managing documentation, learning resources, and using technology tools to support learning.
- Possesses behaviour management skills that reflect restorative practices and the ability to develop and demonstrate positive behaviour strategies, supporting children’s learning.
- Has strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and communicate clearly.
- Holds a valid Working With Children Check, RRHAN-EC, and Senior First Aid certification (including CPR, Anaphylaxis, and Asthma).
