KU ANSTO, situated within the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organisation (ANSTO) Lucas Heights Campus near Menai, presents a unique opportunity for dedicated early childhood educators. Our purpose-built long day care facility serves children aged 6 weeks to 6 years, specifically established to support ANSTO families. The indoor and outdoor environments are designed to foster curiosity, exploration, and a lasting enthusiasm for learning.

Our centre specialises in:

  • Implementing RIE®’s ‘Educaring’ approach, a method for interacting with infants and toddlers based on demonstrated respect.
  • Practices aligned with ‘Circle of Security’, ‘Attachment Theory’, and ‘Play Spaces’.
  • Integrating sustainable practices and environmental awareness into early childhood education.
  • Supporting a partnership with the Aboriginal community through the Gujaga Foundation for the Dharawal Language Program.

The Role This is a permanent, full-time teaching position requiring 8 hours of work per day, Monday to Friday. A monthly rostered day off will be accrued.

We seek an Early Childhood Teacher who is enthusiastic about nurturing young children's learning and development. The ideal candidate will be caring, energetic, and dedicated to cultivating a secure, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment, while fostering positive connections with children, families, and colleagues.

Completion of Circle of Security in the Classroom and the RIE® Foundations course would be highly beneficial.

Criteria for the Role

  • Experience with Circle of Security in the Classroom and RIE® Foundations.
  • A sound understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law (2010) and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).
  • Working knowledge of the National Quality Standards (NQS) and Early Years Learning Frameworks (EYLF).
  • An ACECQA recognised Early Childhood Teaching degree.
  • Completed Child Protection Training, National Child Safety Training, and demonstrated understanding of current child safe practices.
  • Completed National Child Safety Training via Geccko.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates, along with current separate approved Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management certificates.
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation.
  • Australian working rights.
  • A current NSW Working with Children Check.
