Education Laboratory Assistant (Allied Health)
Chisholm Institute is recruiting an experienced Education Laboratory Assistant for its Allied Health delivery area. This is a full-time, onsite position based in Frankston.

About the Role
The Education Laboratory Assistant, within the Allied Health department, will be responsible for:
- Coordinating the procurement and maintenance of training equipment and materials for all Nursing and Allied Health course areas.
- Contributing to the development and upkeep of policies for simulation laboratory services and best practice methodologies for laboratory infrastructure.
- Liaising with staff and students to offer expert advice, support, guidance, and training on safe simulation laboratory practices and techniques.
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in compliance with relevant industry legislation and Institute guidelines.
- Preparing simulation laboratories for daily use, and packing up and cleaning at the conclusion of practical lessons.
- Conducting safety audits in laboratories and maintaining/developing safety manuals.
- Collaborating with industry to align current and emerging needs, facilitating responsive education and delivery models that engage learners.
- Managing the provision of clinical teaching equipment to meet industry needs for tailored programs.
About You
You will possess a relevant degree in Nursing or Health Science, with substantial work experience in the Health Industry, or an equivalent combination of relevant knowledge, training, and experience. Success in this role will depend on your capacity to provide high-quality technical support and develop innovative approaches to program management, identifying opportunities to enhance health-related program delivery within simulation settings.
The following skills and experience are essential:
- Knowledge of a wide range of nursing and clinical health laboratory equipment and infrastructure.
- Proven competency with simulation mannequin technologies.
- Demonstrated understanding of OH&S regulations and guidelines for the effective operation of nursing and health facilities.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a busy environment, problem-solve, and manage multiple activities and deadlines.
- Proven experience with budgeting, stock management, and maintenance.
- Advanced literacy and numeracy skills, with proven administrative skills including database/inventory management.
