The Army delivers world-class military training and requires quality educators to induct and train personnel. As an Education Officer, you will teach the next generation of Army soldiers. Responsibilities include developing, implementing, and assessing educational policies, educating Officer Cadets, and conducting distance education courses, among other duties.

You will have opportunities to travel and work in diverse environments, including Army Headquarters, Learning Production Centres, Royal Military College – Duntroon, Defence Training Centres, and potentially overseas. As an Officer, you will lead a team of education professionals, providing advice and mentorship while developing transferable skills.

Training: Upon commencing, Defence will provide all necessary skills through leadership and military training at the Royal Military College, Duntroon – Canberra, a 42-day program. Subsequent military courses will further enhance your skills, and Army sponsorship schemes may be available for professional qualifications.

Salary: A competitive annual salary of $97,168 is offered, along with a 16.4% superannuation contribution from day one, irrespective of age, experience, or qualifications.

Location: Opportunities exist to explore Australia and the world. Following initial military training in Canberra, postings may be to major Australian bases or regional Training Establishments. Relocation is a requirement, as specific posting locations cannot be guaranteed for the duration of service.

Requirements:

• Hold a teaching degree (Bachelor or Master’s).
• Full registration as a teacher in Australia is highly desirable, with recency of practice within a five-year period of registration.
