Norville State School is seeking a Family Support Coordinator. This full-time, onsite position is based at Norville State School, with responsibilities extending to Kalkie State School, Childers State School, and Bundaberg South State School.

About Norville State School: Norville State School is a large, well-regarded Prep to Year 6 school situated near Bundaberg's south-western edge in Norville. The school serves approximately 800 students across mainstream and specialist education programs. It is committed to inclusion, supporting students with diverse learning needs through integrated special education services and early intervention. About the Role: The Family Support Coordinator will collaborate with classroom teachers, school support staff, and Early Childhood Coordinators to foster safe and welcoming learning environments. This role will assist the school team in supporting children and families during transitions from early childhood services, facilitating access to learning or engagement support to promote positive school attendance, behaviour, and learning engagement. The coordinator will also connect families with external government and non-government supports and services to address barriers to student learning.

Travel is a component of this role. The FTE allocation is as follows:

  • Norville State School - 0.50 FTE
  • Kalkie State School - 0.20 FTE
  • Childers State School - 0.15 FTE
  • Bundaberg South State School - 0.15 FTE

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate strong partnerships with students, families, schools, and community services.
  • Connect families with health, wellbeing, and community supports to enhance student outcomes.
  • Support successful school transitions, positive attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers and specialist staff to address the needs of children and families.
  • Coordinate multi-agency support and referrals, including access to specialist services as appropriate.
  • Utilise data to monitor student outcomes and maintain accurate case records.
