Fruit & Veg Department Manager

Farmer Lou’s, a recognised family grocery store in South Grafton, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Fruit & Veg Department Manager. As a family business serving the community through retail and wholesale, we are looking for an individual to lead our produce department.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the fruit and vegetable or supermarket industry is essential.
- Proven experience in leading and motivating a team.
- Confidence in leading, directing, and supervising staff is a requirement. This role is not suitable for individuals uncomfortable with team management and providing clear direction.
- Computer literacy, including proficiency with ordering, inventory, and email systems.
- An interest in budgets, business performance, and technology, or a willingness to acquire this knowledge.
- Organised, reliable, and capable of working in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Willingness to work early mornings and weekends as required.
- A commitment to maintaining a high standard of presentation.
Desirable:
- Experience with Future Net POS and Convenience Back Office software is highly regarded.
Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the daily operations of the fruit and vegetable department, ensuring the quality of produce and the presentation of displays.
- Managing inventory, ordering produce, and cultivating supplier relationships.
- Training, leading, and motivating staff to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Ensuring adherence to food safety regulations.
- Engaging with customers to provide a positive and personalised shopping experience.
