Furniture Distribution & Warehouse Supervisor
Company: ForgeHR Location: Hendra Work Type: Part-Time
About the Role
Williamson Bros. Removalists is seeking a Furniture Distribution & Warehouse Supervisor for their Hendra location. This is a part-time casual position with a genuine pathway to full-time employment. The role offers a four-day week, operating Monday to Thursday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Salary is commensurate with experience.
This position is designed for an individual who thrives on taking ownership and actively contributing to an operation. Currently, there is no existing warehouse team to manage. The successful candidate will be solely responsible for the Hendra furniture distribution warehouse, ensuring the safe and efficient reception, storage, and dispatch of furniture. This is a hands-on, physically demanding role. Daily activities will involve unloading furniture trucks alongside interstate drivers, organising stock, preparing furniture for local deliveries, and maintaining smooth warehouse operations.
As the business expands, this role is envisioned as the cornerstone of local delivery operations. The supervisor will have the opportunity to influence warehouse processes and, as local deliveries grow, will play a significant part in establishing and supporting that expansion. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy and desires to grow with the company.
This role is not suited for individuals seeking a desk-based supervisory position or those who prefer managing people over performing physical tasks. However, for those who enjoy independent work, problem-solving, physical activity, and take pride in an efficient operation, this role will be a strong fit.
Responsibilities
The day-to-day operation of the Hendra warehouse falls under your purview, with a focus on efficient furniture reception, storage, organisation, and dispatch. This role empowers you to make decisions, manage your own schedule, and assume full responsibility for the warehouse. Collaboration with interstate drivers and the office team is expected, but you will be the primary driver of warehouse operations.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Receiving interstate furniture deliveries.
- Physically unloading trucks in conjunction with HC and MC drivers.
- Safely moving, stacking, and storing furniture within the warehouse.
- Preparing furniture for local delivery runs.
- Maintaining accurate stock records and warehouse organisation.
- Ensuring the warehouse is clean, safe, and presentable.
- Coordinating with drivers on incoming and outgoing freight.
- Identifying and promptly reporting damaged goods.
- Adhering to safe manual handling and WHS procedures.
- Managing your workload to ensure smooth daily operations.
About You

- Enjoys working independently and taking ownership.
- Is physically fit and comfortable with the demands of lifting and moving furniture throughout the day.
- Possesses experience in warehousing, furniture distribution, removals, or logistics.
- Prefers hands-on work over desk-based activities.
- Is organised, proactive, and possesses a natural ability to identify necessary tasks.
- Can prioritise tasks effectively without constant supervision.
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and efficient warehouse environment.
- Has basic computer skills for warehouse administration.
- Holds a forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential).

What's In It For You
- A four-day working week (Monday to Thursday).
- Early finishes allowing for afternoons to be enjoyed.
- A genuine pathway towards full-time employment.
- A stable, long-term role with a respected family-owned business.
- A modern warehouse environment.
- Daily variety through a mix of warehouse operations and physical tasks.
- A role where you are trusted to manage your responsibilities without micromanagement.
- The opportunity to truly make the warehouse your own.
Before You Apply
This role is best suited for someone who embraces responsibility and is comfortable being on their feet throughout the day. You will regularly unload and move furniture with our interstate drivers, requiring the physical capability to perform manual handling tasks safely. If you enjoy autonomous work, problem-solving, and taking pride in a well-organised warehouse, you will find this position a good fit.
Williamson Bros. is an equal opportunity employer. All employment offers are contingent upon confirmation that the candidate can meet the inherent physical requirements of the role.
