DSV Solutions is seeking a skilled and passionate General Manager to join our team in Hoxton Park. If you are dedicated to customer-centricity, driven by performance, and foster collaboration to ensure supply chains remain operational, you will find a place within DSV’s global family.
As General Manager, you will lead and optimise contract logistics operations. This involves ensuring safe, efficient, and customer-focused warehousing and distribution services, while simultaneously driving profitability, growth, and operational excellence.
Your Role:
- Oversee daily operations to ensure peak warehouse efficiency and adherence to budget through supervision, organisation, and training of warehouse employees. Establish, monitor, and manage operational goals.
- Manage warehouse operations and systems by defining product handling and storage requirements, equipment utilisation, and inventory control.
- Review and manage workflows, staffing needs, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans aligned with company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures, and by complying with legal regulations.
- Ensure customer orders are processed within agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs) between the Customer and DSV, with daily compliance measured via the Open Orders report.
- Assign specific tasks to Managers, Supervisors, or Team Leaders, ensuring full accountability.
- Plan and manage product distribution activities and oversee the DC team to achieve company objectives.
- Ensure an effective structure is in place to meet logistics and transport customer SLAs and manage the day-to-day operations of the facility.
About You:
- Previous experience as an Operations Manager or DC Manager of a medium to large facility is required.
- Experience in 3PL, distribution, and road transport, as well as customer relationship building, is necessary.
- A degree or equivalent relevant experience in a similar environment is needed.
- Staff, union, and contractor management experience is essential.
- Strong commercial acumen, with demonstrated ability to apply business theories to operational and practical situations.
- Demonstrate effective leadership by guiding, mentoring, and supporting team members, inspiring them to achieve their best performance.
- A strong understanding of complex warehouse systems is vital.
