Head of Science
Nowra Anglican College is seeking a Head of Department – Science to lead the Senior School Science department. This full-time, permanent leadership role commences in 2027.
The college is looking for an innovative and energetic Science educator who is passionate about instructional leadership and inspiring future scientific thinkers. The ideal candidate will foster a collaborative culture of teaching excellence, build teacher capacity, promote high-quality scientific inquiry, and mentor staff. A commitment to Christian education in the Anglican tradition and active involvement in a local church are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Leadership: Mentor staff, conduct lesson observations, and lead evidence-based pedagogy in alignment with the Building Learning Power framework.
- Curriculum & Data: Oversee differentiated teaching programs and utilise data to enhance student growth in science, literacy, and numeracy.
- WHS & Compliance: Maintain a robust safety culture, supervise lab technicians, and ensure strict adherence to CSIS guidelines and Risk Assess protocols.
- School Life: Contribute to the Senior School pastoral program and lead a weekly co-curricular activity.

Selection Criteria:
- Relevant education degree and eligibility for NESA accreditation.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance.
- Demonstrated success in improving student outcomes and building teacher capacity in science.

- Active involvement in a local church and a commitment to Christian education within the Anglican tradition.
