Kangaroo Island Community Education (KICE) is a multi-campus school on Kangaroo Island, South Australia, established in 2005 from a community initiative to review educational delivery on the island. The three campuses – Kingscote, Parndana, and Penneshaw – operate collaboratively, linking childcare, preschool, and school education with a focus on lifelong learning from birth. Our preschools and schools are central to local communities, providing safe, inclusive, and collaborative environments where every child and young person is encouraged to contribute, build positive relationships, have a voice in their learning, and where their needs, interests, languages, and cultures are recognised and supported.

The Kingscote Campus, a welcoming, community-focused school, seeks a passionate and experienced Senior Leader R-6 to join their team.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the KICE Primary Years Leadership Team to lead and support teachers in implementing the SA Curriculum and SA Strategy for Public Education.
• Foster a positive and collaborative culture where learning is viewed as a collective responsibility and staff feel empowered.
• Work closely with the Inclusion and Student Wellbeing Leader and teachers at Kingscote Campus to ensure equitable access to high-quality learning for all R-6 students.
• Engage in collaborative leadership, utilising data to inform teaching and learning and the School Improvement Plan.
• Build staff capability and professional growth through active instructional leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and facilitating high-impact professional development.
• Manage day-to-day operations to create optimal and safe learning environments.
• Cultivate a positive and inclusive school culture through collaborative leadership, effective communication, and strong partnerships with staff, families, and external agencies.

Location: Kingscote, South Australia Work Type: Full-time On-site/Remote: On-site Salary: $145,859 per year

Additional Country Incentives (First Year):

• Country Incentives Zone Allowance: $2,261 per year
• One-off incidentals payment: $589
• Locality Allowances (Increased cost of living and some aspects of isolation): $753 per year

After the first year, ongoing allowances totalling $3,014 per year will continue.

Potential Eligibility for:

• A 20% rental subsidy.
• Payment of removal and relocation costs (average approximately $7,000).
• Travel and accommodation costs for medical and dental treatment.
