Job Description

Reporting to the Program Leader – Counselling, this role is responsible for contributing to the delivery of counselling higher education courses, as well as the development, teaching, and assessment of subjects within these courses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and practical teaching sessions, providing high-quality academic support to students across face-to-face and online environments.
  • Develop and maintain subject materials, assessments, marking rubrics, and learning resources, ensuring alignment with curriculum, accreditation, and quality standards.
  • Coordinate and support student placements, including liaising with placement providers, monitoring student progress, and ensuring placement requirements are met.
  • Assess and moderate student work, identify and support students at risk, and maintain accurate records via the learning management system.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement through subject review, academic governance, compliance activities, scholarship, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in the relevant discipline is required.
  • Demonstrated tertiary teaching experience, including curriculum and learning material development.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and successfully deliver higher education subjects.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and communication skills with internal and external partners.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and eligibility for membership of a relevant professional association.
