Role Overview This position involves academic leadership in teaching and learning. The appointed candidate will contribute to excellent IT education, research, and a positive student experience on campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Academic Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lectures, tutorials, and assessments for Bachelor of IT and Master of IT, Master of Research programs, with a focus on AI (including Machine Learning, Deep Learning, LLM, NLP).
- Lead curriculum development, unit coordination, and ongoing improvement in alignment with industry standards.
- Supervise student research and capstone projects.
- Undertake scholarly and industry-engaged research/innovation activities.
- Participate in academic governance committees.
- Provide academic leadership and support to students, fostering a positive learning environment.
- Collaborate with administrative teams to support student services and operational efficiency.
Selection Criteria
- Essential
- PhD in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience teaching at the tertiary level with strong student outcomes.
- Evidence of curriculum development and academic leadership.
- A strong research track record or industry-engaged scholarship.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Desirable
- Experience in Unit Coordination or academic administration.
- Experience working with diverse student populations, including international students.
- Familiarity with TEQSA standards and quality assurance processes.
