Lecturer (Landscape Architecture) - University of Technology Sydney

Location: Broadway Salary: $127,119 to $150,453 per Year Work Type: Full-time Work Model: Onsite

The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) is seeking a Lecturer in Landscape Architecture (Level B) for a continuing appointment. This role involves a balanced workload.

Working collaboratively within a dynamic and diverse faculty, the successful candidate will contribute to the strategic development of a program entering a new phase. This initiative aims to integrate new focuses, alignments, and collaborations within reimagined school and faculty structures.

Since its establishment in 2015, the landscape architecture program at UTS has earned recognition from professionals and academics for its rigorous approach to study and inquiry. The quality of its teaching and research has been acknowledged both nationally and internationally, leading to high demand for its graduates. Future directions will build upon this foundation to foster practices that are just, socially and environmentally responsible, and materially impactful.

Candidates are invited to contribute to one or more of the following areas:

  • Urban ecology
  • Materials and advanced fabrication/construction
  • Critical technologies
  • Community-led design
  • Critical and contemporary practice

About You: We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience in both academic and professional settings.
  • A critical and transformative vision for landscape architecture, supported by a design-oriented and/or design-led research practice.
  • Established or developing expertise in one or more of the identified knowledge domains.
  • Knowledge of contemporary theory and practice from an expanded field relevant to the future of landscape architecture.
  • The ability to develop and deliver curricula across various subject areas and modes, including studio teaching and seminar-based subjects.
  • A desire to contribute to a shared educational project focused on developing landscape curriculum as a catalyst for professional and societal change.
  • An interest in providing future leadership at program and school levels.

Applicants must hold a terminal degree or equivalent experience in landscape architecture. Preference will be given to applicants who are close to completing or hold a PhD relevant to landscape architecture.

Remuneration: Base Salary Range: $127,119 to $150,453 per annum (Level B). This role attracts 17% superannuation in addition to the base salary. This is a full-time, continuing appointment.
