The University of New England (UNE) is seeking applications for six (6) full-time, continuing positions within the School of Law. These roles are based in Armidale.
Available Positions:
- Two (2) Lecturer in Law (Balanced)
- Two (2) Lecturer in Law (Teaching Focused)
- Two (2) Senior Lecturer in Law (Balanced)
Salary:
- Lecturer (Level B): $116,738 – $138,353 per year
- Senior Lecturer (Level C): $147,000 – $164,293 per year
- An additional 17% employer superannuation contribution applies.

About the Role:
- For Balanced Academic Positions (Lecturer and Senior Lecturer): Successful applicants will undertake high-quality research, deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students, and supervise research students. Contributions to the Law School’s collaborative and innovative culture, support for strategic goals, and enhancement of the School, Faculty, and University’s reputation are expected.
- For Teaching-Focused Positions (Lecturer): Successful applicants will deliver high-quality teaching to undergraduate and postgraduate students. Contributions to the Law School’s collaborative and innovative culture, support for strategic goals, and enhancement of the School, Faculty, and University’s reputation are expected.
The School is particularly interested in receiving applications from outstanding researchers and teachers in all compulsory core units, specifically: commercial law, contract law, torts law, criminal law, and/or tax law.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) is required.
- A PhD (or equivalent legal experience) is required.
- For Teaching-Focused positions, nearing completion of a PhD (or equivalent alternative) will suffice.
- Demonstrated experience, skills, and ability at the appropriate level for the position, as outlined in the Position Statement.
- Willingness to travel to other UNE campuses for teaching and service, as may be required.
