GenesisCare is seeking a Medical Receptionist for a full-time, permanent position within a new Oncology clinic in Redcliffe. This role is onsite and offers a salary under the FLARE & Care To benefit Programs.
In this critical role, you will be the initial point of contact for patients navigating their cancer journey. The position operates in a fast-paced environment across various workstations where priorities can shift rapidly. An efficient, helpful, and empathetic approach is essential. Key Responsibilities:
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced administrative setting with competing priorities, maintaining patient focus as the highest priority.
- Serve as the first point of contact for patients, delivering excellent service in person and via telephone.
- Book and confirm patient appointments and consultations.
- Process billing and receipting of invoices.
- Accurately enter data across two platforms and process relevant paperwork.
- Liaise and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure efficient processes and maintain doctor relationships.
- Manage patient records and file patient notes.
- Ensure the smooth operation and preparation of the clinic, including retrieving results, updating Medicare and health fund details, and maintaining demographic and referral information.
- Develop a clear understanding of Radiation Oncology billing, Medicare, and Medicare Safety Net funding mechanisms.
- Communicate funding mechanisms, out-of-pocket fees, and other account-related enquiries compassionately to patients.
