National Contract Logistics Distribution Manager (GM Level)

Kuehne & Nagel Pty Ltd is seeking a National Contract Logistics Distribution Manager (GM Level) for a full-time, onsite position in Derrimut.

This role is pivotal in leading and optimising the entire domestic distribution network across Australia. The position is critical for ensuring excellence in customer service, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and continuous improvement across all transport and distribution operations. Collaborating with internal operations teams, customers, carriers, and senior stakeholders, you will steer strategic network performance and maintain a consistent, scalable distribution model that supports business expansion.

Your contribution will involve:

• Leading and overseeing the national distribution network to achieve optimal performance, cost efficiency, and service excellence.
• Driving the achievement of agreed customer service levels, operational KPIs, and budget targets.
• Ensuring complete adherence to internal safety standards and external regulatory requirements for all distribution activities.
• Analysing transport and distribution network performance and implementing strategies for enhanced efficiency, scalability, and sustainability.
• Spearheading continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity, reduce cost-to-serve, and elevate customer experience.
• Partnering with key internal stakeholders, including Contract Logistics operations, customer teams, and finance, to align service delivery with business objectives.
• Managing external stakeholders such as carriers, transport providers, and strategic partners.
• Developing and implementing standardised processes across the distribution network to ensure consistency and governance.
• Leading, coaching, and developing distribution teams to build capability and strengthen succession planning.

We are looking for candidates with:

• 8–12 years of experience in transport, distribution, logistics, or supply chain leadership roles.
• A strong background in managing large-scale distribution or transport networks (national or multi-site is preferred).
• Proven experience in cost control, service delivery, and operational performance management.
• Strong analytical capabilities with experience in network optimisation or transport strategy.
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and driving performance outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder management skills across internal and external partners.
• Experience in Contract Logistics or 3PL environments is highly regarded.
• A strong understanding of safety, compliance, and transport regulations.
