This role supports older individuals in accessing essential aged care services. You will join a collaborative team engaged in community-based healthcare delivery, offering an opportunity for career growth within a purposeful and rewarding position.

The Regional Assessment Service (RAS), a component of Western Sydney Local Health District, conducts Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) assessments for older adults aiming to maintain independent living at home. Situated at Westmead, you will become part of a dedicated team focused on providing excellent customer service and making a tangible difference in the lives of community elders.

The position involves coordinating, managing, and delivering high-quality administrative support to facilitate connections between older Australians and the aged care services they require.

Responsibilities:

As an Administration Officer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of the Regional Assessment Service through the coordination of administrative processes. This support is crucial for timely client assessments and effective service provision. Your organisational abilities, attention to detail, and client-centric approach will assist older individuals in obtaining the care and support they need.

Your duties will include:

  • Coordinating assessment administration, encompassing client records, scheduling, and preparation of assessment documentation.
  • Maintaining accurate information within My Aged Care systems and ensuring timely completion of documentation.
  • Providing high-quality administrative and customer service support to clients, assessors, and key stakeholders.
  • Assisting with service coordination, scheduling, and operational support to adapt to evolving service demands.
  • Ensuring adherence to Commonwealth guidelines, policies, and quality standards while contributing to efficient service delivery.

Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrated understanding of, and/or experience in, the health sector and aged care services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the functional support needs of older people and their carers in a community setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to address and manage conflicting demands and priorities.
  • Demonstrated high-level written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated efficient computer skills, with the capacity to learn and utilise electronic reporting systems.
  • Demonstrated good organisational and problem-solving skills, accompanied by a ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.

This position is an administrative role but is open to EINs and AINs.
