Job Description

Office Admin / Bookkeeper – Smith Plant Hire

Smith Plant Hire is seeking an experienced Office Administrator/Bookkeeper to join our full-time team at our modern South Lismore office. This role involves overseeing all company administration and bookkeeping functions, working in liaison with the Office Manager to meet objectives. The position operates five days a week, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a variety of administrative duties, including data entry, filing, and document control.
  • Allocate transactions within MYOB and perform account reconciliations.
  • Process fortnightly payroll using MYOB.
  • Manage superannuation payable.
  • Generate invoices and oversee accounts receivable.
  • Review and manage accounts payable.
  • Order and maintain office supplies and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Arrange and schedule vehicle registrations and inspections.
  • Process road vehicle pink slips.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in a bookkeeping capacity, ideally within the transport, equipment hire, industrial, or construction sectors.
  • Considerable proficiency in MYOB Business, specifically in payroll, superannuation, accounts payable, and transaction allocation.
  • Strong organisational and time management capabilities, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple demands.
  • Competency in the Microsoft Office suite and other relevant software applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the establishment of positive relationships with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
