The Queensland Operations Directorate, part of the Queensland Operations division, is instrumental in supporting Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ) to achieve its objectives as outlined in TIQ's Strategic and Business Plans. This is facilitated through focus on priority sectors including mining, resources, energy, food, agribusiness, health, innovation, and technology, complemented by a network of eight regional centres designed to assist Queensland businesses.

Your Opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Directorate, this role offers the chance to provide high-level executive administrative and operational project support to the General Manager and the division. Responsibilities include coordinating, managing, and ensuring quality control over the General Manager's daily schedule, alongside other administrative tasks that support the division's work.

Your Contribution (Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities)

  • Provide high-level confidential administrative and operational support to the General Manager.
  • Actively participate in the delivery and coordination of other business management functions and projects, both domestically and internationally, as required.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all administrative documents related to divisional activities.
  • Coordinate stakeholder responses across the division concerning a range of operational and policy matters.
  • In consultation with the Manager, develop, implement, and continuously improve office management systems, including information management, filing, and tracking systems.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication strategies, protocols, stakeholder negotiation, and liaison activities across cultures and with other private and public sector organisations.
  • Develop and foster effective relationships with key stakeholders across local, state, and federal agencies, and industry to build commitment to long-term growth.

This role may require additional duties to be completed as directed.

  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality confidential administrative and operational support, including executive diary management, coordination of correspondence requests, and research.
  • Possesses a high level of organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems in challenging environments.
  • Possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrates a high level of resilience and flexibility while operating in an environment with competing priorities.
