The Role This position is for the PM Shift, with hours from 2 PM to 10 PM.
The Retail Fulfilment Centre is a 32,000 square metre facility featuring advanced automation technology. The Operations Manager will oversee and manage daily operations and develop the 3rd party distribution centre. This includes ensuring efficient use of personnel and equipment, and that warehousing and distribution activities are conducted safely, accurately, and meet customer requirements. The role involves directing warehousing and distribution to achieve service and financial targets.
This role requires leadership, a focus on customer excellence, and operational efficiency, with an emphasis on maintaining safe and efficient site operations.
As the Operations Manager, you will:
- Plan and coordinate monthly activities for the Retail Fulfilment Centre to achieve set standards and results.
- Provide direct leadership to implement innovative practices and technologies for significant growth.
- Maximise profitability by leading performance across end-to-end work and operational processes.
- Lead and drive weekly, monthly, and quarterly plans for the operations function, ensuring adequate resources are available to meet agreed objectives and customer outcomes.
- Manage compliance, health and safety, people matters, and overall standards.
- Plan and implement operational and other necessary change initiatives at the business site level to enhance Business Unit profitability and productivity.
- Act as an influential leader to foster team engagement by encouraging input, recognising performance, and empowering team members to take ownership of outcomes, thereby building a strong team ethos that supports continuous improvement and a high-performing team culture.
About You
- Minimum of 5 years in logistics or warehouse management at a similar level.
- Proven management experience in transport, logistics, or the fashion-related industry.
- Previous experience managing a complex industrial environment.
- Exposure to 3PL warehousing and familiarity with automated warehousing systems (Vanderlande, Swisslog, or Dematic preferred).
- Data-driven with a strong background in data skills.
- Strong leadership skills for managing and mentoring the team.
- Experience managing warehouse and/or logistics technology and driving operational improvements.
- A Certificate or Diploma in Warehousing, business administration, or a related discipline.
- Ability to drive the TOLL "Safety obsessed" strategy and actively participate in the TOLL Incident & Injury free (IIF) program.
