Sell In Style Property Styling, a prominent Brisbane property styling business, specialises in transforming residences into appealing spaces that assist agents, homeowners, developers, and builders in achieving excellent sales outcomes. As our operations expand across Sell In Style and our premium brand EVOCH, we seek a highly organised, people-oriented, and strong Department Manager for our Staging Department.

This leadership position is integral to managing the Staging Department’s performance, quality, consistency, efficiency, and culture. The successful candidate will lead a team comprising Project Manager Stylists, Senior Stylists, Lead Stylists, Stylists, Junior Stylists, and Stylist Assistants. The objective is to ensure all projects meet the highest standards, supporting company growth, client experience, and operational excellence.

About the Role

The Operations Manager – Staging Department will direct the daily performance of the staging team, ensuring projects are completed to a high standard, efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with SIS and EVOCH guidelines. This role prioritises leadership, structure, communication, accountability, team development, and consistent delivery within a fast-paced, high-volume staging environment, rather than creative input.

Collaboration with the Creative Director, Sales & Service Department, and Warehouse & Logistics Department is essential to ensure all installations, collections, selections, and client outcomes are executed with clarity and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, coach, and develop the Staging Department team.
• Ensure all staging projects meet SIS and EVOCH quality standards.
• Manage the department’s daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
• Support Senior Stylists and Lead Stylists in achieving consistent project outcomes.
• Ensure efficient planning, preparation, installation, and collection of jobs.
• Maintain strong communication channels between Staging, Sales & Service, Warehouse & Logistics, and Leadership.
• Monitor team productivity, role clarity, accountability, and individual KPI performance.
• Ensure styling selections are completed accurately, on time, and align with brand briefs.
• Identify training needs and support ongoing team development.
• Uphold company processes, standards, values, and "Rules of the Game".
• Address underperformance, communication gaps, and process issues promptly and professionally.
• Support scheduling, labour planning, team allocation, and department capacity management.
• Ensure the staging team contributes positively to client satisfaction, repeat business, and brand reputation.
• Drive continuous improvement in quality, speed, efficiency, systems, and team culture.

About You

You are a confident, structured, and commercially minded leader adept at driving performance, establishing accountability, and guiding a team towards defined company objectives. This role requires leadership of the Staging Department as a high-performing business unit, ensuring the team delivers consistent quality, adheres to company policies and procedures, meets performance expectations, and directly contributes to the success of SIS and EVOCH. The focus is on leading the department, not necessarily on being the most experienced stylist or personally selecting every staging project.

You will be responsible for bringing clarity, structure, discipline, and alignment to the department. You understand how to set expectations, drive KPIs, monitor results, support team members, provide training as needed, and address performance issues fairly, professionally, and in a timely manner.

You are highly organised, accountable, and outcome-focused. You can effectively balance people leadership with operational execution, ensuring the department is productive, aligned with company standards, and consistently progressing towards strategic company goals.

While experience in property styling, interior design, or creative industries would be valuable, it is not the primary requirement. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong leadership experience from larger, structured, high-performance environments such as big-box retail, corporate operations, multi-site retail, logistics, hospitality, or other fast-paced businesses where KPIs, systems, standards, and team training are central to success.
