About the Role and Opportunity
This position seeks an experienced Operations Manager to oversee the daily warehouse and distribution centre operations at the Amazon Kemps Creek site. The role involves ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations, delivering service excellence, and meeting performance, safety, and financial targets. It is a hands-on leadership position for individuals who excel in fast-paced, high-volume environments and are committed to people, safety, and continuous improvement. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality logistics services, ensuring operational efficiency, profitability, and long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage daily warehouse and distribution operations to achieve service and financial targets.
- Plan and coordinate resources for efficient utilisation of labour, equipment, and systems.
- Develop strong customer relationships, understand their needs, and enhance service outcomes.
- Investigate operational issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all site processes, procedures, and standards are documented, implemented, and adhered to.
- Act as the point of escalation for operational issues and support audits, inspections, and reviews.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support growth and operational excellence.
What We’re Looking For to Drive Success
- Experience or exposure in a 3PL environment, including an understanding of third-party logistics and client service delivery.
- Strong knowledge of warehousing and distribution best practices, WMS, and labour optimisation.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, coach performance, and foster a collaborative site culture.
- Sound understanding of safety, legislative, and compliance requirements.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a solutions-focused mindset.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
