Operations Manager
Wall Street is seeking an Operations Manager for a full-time, onsite role in Melbourne VIC. The salary is aligned to experience.
Behind every brand that achieves effortless scaling is a robust operation. Hommey has experienced rapid growth, necessitating a commensurate expansion of the operational infrastructure that delivers our product from production to the customer. We are recruiting an Operations Manager to assume responsibility for this operation and to develop it further as we continue to scale.
About Wall Street
Established in 2021, Hommey's founding principle was to demonstrate that aspirational home goods need not be prohibitively expensive. Over a few years, we have evolved into an omni-channel homewares and lifestyle brand with a presence in Australia and the US. We are building a brand that empowers individuals to curate a home that is uniquely theirs, without compromise.
The Role
Reporting to our COO and leading the operations team, you will be responsible for the daily engine that ensures product movement across all channels and markets. Your role will involve direct engagement with our 3PL, freight, and delivery partners to establish and uphold necessary standards and outcomes. You will maintain the reliability of inventory and fulfilment data across our systems and proactively anticipate operational challenges to design out potential customer-facing issues.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Overseeing day-to-day logistics performance across Australia and the US, encompassing inbound freight through to last-mile delivery and returns.
- Managing relationships with our 3PL, freight forwarder, and carrier partners, driving strong commercial outcomes and ensuring adherence to our established standards.
- Managing the fulfilment and inventory flow across our systems stack, including Shopify, Cin7, the 3PL WMS, and Loop, ensuring operational data accuracy and reliability.
- Enhancing operational efficiency through the implementation of automation and technology to reduce workflow friction as we scale.
- Mentoring and developing the operations team, and establishing the execution standards for the team.
Who We're Looking For
You have experience managing logistics and 3PL operations for an omni-channel brand, holding partners to commercial standards, and are prepared to take ownership of a function and develop it in line with business growth. You possess commercial thinking and operate with rigour, maintaining current contracts, tracking performance, and addressing underperformance rather than circumventing it. When issues arise, you focus on identifying the root cause.
You will be a strong fit if you:
- Have led fulfilment, logistics, and 3PL coordination for an omni-channel brand, ideally across multiple markets (experience spanning Australia and the US is a strong plus).
- Bring significant commercial acumen to partner relationships, including negotiation, SLA enforcement, and cost benchmarking.
- Are comfortable with an operational systems stack (ERP, ecommerce, and 3PL platforms) and take ownership of data accuracy across these systems.
- Possess a genuine improvement mindset, continuously seeking opportunities for enhancement through automation and technology.
- Are ready to lead and develop a team, setting clear standards as it expands.
Above all, you uphold standards proactively and apply commercial judgment to all operational decisions. The entire business is impacted by the operation you lead, making its effective management critical.
Why Join Wall Street?
At Wall Street, we are building more than a homewares brand; we are fostering a movement defined by comfort, quality, and personalisation.
You will have ownership of operations from the outset, with genuine scope to grow the function as the business continues to scale. We operate at a fast pace and empower our team members with significant autonomy to own their work and make a tangible impact.
Benefits include five Comfort Days per year, in addition to standard leave. A flexible work culture is fundamental to our operations, and we believe in surrounding ourselves with passionate individuals who value creativity and teamwork.
