Payroll and Finance Coordinator - Level 5 - July 2026

South West Community Care is a not-for-profit Organisation and Registered Charity operating in the South West region, delivering aged care and in-home services. The organisation is managed by a Chief Executive Officer, supported by a Chief Operations Officer and Management Team, overseeing operations and a team of over 120 employees and volunteers. Strategic direction is set by the CEO in conjunction with a volunteer Board of Management. South West Community Care locally manages services for approximately 1000 clients, adopting a 'Wellness' Approach to promote independence, dignity, and quality of life for older Australians. Services are delivered in line with the Aged Care Charter of Rights and Code of Conduct for Aged Care, focusing on person-centred care.

Position Purpose Reporting to the Business Manager, the Payroll and Finance Coordinator is responsible for delivering accurate, timely, and compliant payroll services, alongside providing effective financial and administrative support across the organisation. This role ensures employees are paid correctly according to legislation, awards, and organisational policies, and upholds the integrity of financial processes, reporting, and controls. Collaborating with internal stakeholders, the role contributes to efficient financial operations by maintaining payroll and financial records, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and supporting budgeting and reporting activities. A key aspect of this role is supporting, coordinating, and improving governance, compliance, and continuous improvement within payroll and finance functions.

Position Responsibilities As a Payroll and Finance Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Payroll Administration:
  • Processing end-to-end payroll in accordance with relevant legislation, awards, and organisational policies.
  • Maintaining accurate employee payroll records, including new starters, terminations, leave, superannuation, and salary adjustments.
  • Reconciling payroll data and investigating discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and lodging statutory payroll obligations, including PAYG, superannuation, and Single Touch Payroll (STP).
  • Supporting payroll audits and responding to internal and external queries.
  • Financial Administration:
  • Assisting with accounts payable and receivable functions, including invoice processing, payment runs, and debtor follow-up.
  • Performing bank, payroll, and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end financial processes.
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation in line with compliance and audit requirements.
  • Assisting with financial reporting and data preparation.
  • Compliance and Governance:
  • Ensuring adherence to financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and security of payroll and financial information.
  • Supporting continuous improvement of payroll and finance systems and processes.
  • Contributing to risk management by identifying and escalating potential compliance or financial risks.
  • Stakeholder Support and Service:
  • Providing timely and professional advice to employees and managers regarding payroll and finance matters.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders.
