Due to significant growth, with over 200 new students joining the college, we are seeking dynamic and passionate Primary/Junior School Teachers to join our team in 2026. The successful candidate will possess a thorough understanding of Primary education principles and a genuine enthusiasm for nurturing young minds. A commitment to establishing a supportive and inclusive classroom where every student feels valued and empowered for success is essential. As a Junior/Primary School Teacher at Iqra College, you will be instrumental in fostering a love for learning, developing critical thinking abilities, and inspiring wonder in our students.
This position offers a permanent contract with Iqra College.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons that align with the Australian Curriculum and the values of Iqra College.
- Demonstrate sound knowledge of learning for Junior or primary year levels.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated.
- Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the holistic development of each child.
- Exhibit passion for the process of learning and employ a variety of appropriate pedagogies to engage students and deepen their understanding of concepts.
- Apply creativity in assessing student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments, providing feedback to support their development.
- Collaborate with colleagues on planning and implementing cross-curricular initiatives and extracurricular activities that enhance the learning experience.
- Uphold high standards for student learning and personal performance.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Degree in Education or a relevant field.
- A valid teaching certification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia, or with any other state.
- Demonstrated experience working with Junior/primary school-aged children.
- A strong understanding of the Australian Curriculum. The ability to integrate Islamic values into teaching practices is optional.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- The legal right to live and work in Australia.
