Curtin University is seeking a Practicum Program Coordinator to manage the Media, Creative Arts and Social Inquiry Practicum Program. This role ensures students receive high-quality practicum learning experiences aligned with stakeholder priorities, including professional and industry partners. The position offers specialised fieldwork and placement support across multiple disciplines, with a focus on Libraries, Archives, Records and Information Science.

Responsibilities:

• Identify suitable practicum sites and negotiate fieldwork agreements domestically and internationally.
• Assess student capabilities against Practicum Program policies and procedures, and match students to appropriate placements.
• Review fieldwork risk assessments and travel requests, ensuring risk mitigation.
• Confirm the provision of high-quality and safe professional practice at practicum sites.
• Initiate and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to foster ongoing placement opportunities.
• Conduct site visits (in person or online) and evaluate program effectiveness by collecting and analysing data, and preparing reports.
• Provide support to students and host organisations before and during placements to ensure a positive experience.
• Lead the development of written and online resources to enhance the student practicum experience and host organisation engagement.
• Identify, develop, implement, and review policies and procedures for continuous quality improvement of the Practicum Program.
• Promote the Practicum Program to industry and students through various communication methods, including presentations and correspondence.
• Uphold the highest standards of professional and personal conduct as a member of the University community, modelling the University’s Values and Signature Behaviours.
• Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the role's accountabilities and responsibilities.

Selection Criteria:

• Proven experience in project and program management, with a track record of achieving outcomes and pursuing continuous growth and improvement.
• Strong interpersonal skills for professional liaison and negotiation with diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, including report writing and presentation skills.
• Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
• Proficiency in IT, including strong internet use skills and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Experience with SONIA and other relevant fieldwork placement platforms.
• A background in the education sector is highly desirable, though not essential.

Role Requirements:

• Permanent work rights in Australia are required for this continuing (permanent) role.
