Emmaus Christian School Canberra is seeking a passionate and dedicated Primary Health & Physical Education Teacher. This full-time, onsite position is located in Dickson, ACT.

The role involves delivering engaging, Christ-centred Health and Physical Education programs designed to inspire students to develop lifelong healthy habits and a love of physical activity. The successful applicant will foster student wellbeing, engagement, and achievement through meaningful learning experiences that support personal growth and encourage the development of Christian character.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, implement, and assess learning programs aligned with the Health and Physical Education Australian Curriculum (Version 9).
• Provide engaging lessons that develop students' knowledge, movement, skills, fitness, teamwork, resilience, and understanding of lifelong health and wellbeing.
• Create an inclusive and safe learning environment that encourages all students to participate and develop confidence in physical activities, differentiating teaching to meet the needs of diverse learners.
• Integrate Christian perspectives into teaching, encouraging students to view physical health and wellbeing as part of stewarding God's image in them.
• Assist with the planning and coordination of school sporting events such as carnivals, cross country, and gala days.

Selection Criteria:

• Demonstrated experience teaching Health and Physical Education in accordance with the Australian Curriculum (Version 9).
• A proven capacity to build positive, respectful, and effective relationships with young people.
• Commitment to professional growth, reflective practice, and collaboration with colleagues.
• A committed Christian with a clear understanding of, and support for, education in a Christian School setting.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements:

• A current teaching qualification and registration with the ACT Teaching Quality Institute (or ability to obtain prior to commencement).
• A current Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) card.
• A current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Dickson, ACT.
