About the Role: St Augustine's College is seeking a dedicated Primary Teacher to join its Early Years team. This role is situated within a supportive, vibrant, and community-focused school environment that values collaboration, creativity, and a genuine passion for education. This position is offered as an initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role upon successful completion. Role Details:

  • Location: St Augustine's College - Augustine Heights
  • Contract Period: 27 July 2026 - Until the End of Term 2 2027
  • Work Hours: 30 hours per week
  • Salary: $86,601 - $124,725 per annum + super (commensurate with experience)
  • Status: Full-time fixed term (with potential to convert to continuing upon completion)

Responsibilities:

  • Create a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment that is ordered and aligned with relevant curriculum policies, documents, and practices.
  • Collaboratively develop and implement quality curriculum programs and appropriate pedagogy; evaluate their effectiveness; assess and report on student progress and learning outcomes to students, parents, and the community.
  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team, teachers, and other staff members to contribute to the professional life of the school and foster a positive school culture.
  • Proactively engage in professional learning to enhance student learning outcomes.
  • Establish positive relationships in the pastoral care of students and support their spiritual and moral development.
  • Ensure that the teachings and values of the Catholic Church underpin learning and teaching.

Candidate Profile: To be successful in this position, you will possess relevant contemporary skills and experience, including:

  • Creating a supportive, learner-focused classroom aligned with the Australian Curriculum.
  • Expertise in designing and delivering effective curriculum programs in line with the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers.
  • Commitment to engaging with colleagues, students, and parents/carers to enrich learning experiences and achieve optimal educational outcomes for students.
  • A passion for supporting students' spiritual and moral development.

Eligibility and Safeguarding Requirements:

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment.
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
