Project Officer and Governance Coordinator Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions Melbourne VIC $100,894 - $114,476 plus superannuation Full-time, onsite

This role offers an opportunity to enhance expertise in government investment attraction programs, focusing on grant management. Reporting to the Program and Compliance Manager, the Project Officer and Governance Coordinator collaborates with the Governance and Performance team to support the Industry, Trade and Investment branch.

The position provides quality assurance, advice, guidance, and GEMS support for investment contracts, milestone acquittals, grant payment claims, and grant agreement variations. The aim is to ensure Victoria's investment attraction grants are administered with robust governance, compliance, and accuracy, while supporting project monitoring, reporting, process improvement, and the upkeep of grant records. This role is suitable for a highly organised professional with strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills, and a keen eye for detail.

Main Accountabilities:

  • Assess grant payment claims and contract variations through quality assurance checks, offering advice on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Support the monitoring, tracking, and reporting of projects within the Group's investment grant portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate investment grant records in Salesforce (GEMS) and assist Investment Managers with grant administration.
  • Develop an understanding of investment governance frameworks and contribute to staff resources and process improvements.
  • Cultivate effective stakeholder relationships and contribute positively within a collaborative team environment.

The Industry, Trade and Investment Group operates to foster Victorian jobs, innovation, and international competitiveness by working with businesses both domestically and internationally. The Group supports trade, investment, innovation, and international education, while strengthening key Victorian industries and economic growth. The Industry, Trade and Investment Services Branch, part of this Group, includes teams focused on Facilitation, Financial Projects and Risks, Governance and Performance, Service Design and Delivery, Financial Services and Business Management, and Events and Venues. This Branch offers specialist support in finance, governance, grant management, performance reporting, investment facilitation, and business management services to the wider Group.

About You: You will demonstrate flexibility and adaptability, responding positively to changing priorities and working effectively across teams. You will apply strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to interpret guidelines, assess issues, and identify practical solutions. You will also possess excellent stakeholder engagement capabilities, building productive relationships, supporting client needs, and contributing to positive outcomes across the investment grant portfolio.
