Expression of Interest - Casual Project Officer (WIL)
This is a casual position with variable hours and days determined by operational needs, based at Western’s Parramatta South Campus.
Salary: HEW 6 $97,693 – $104,713 per annum, plus a 25% casual loading.
The role involves coordinating Work Integrated Learning (WIL) projects and placements to connect students with industry and improve learning outcomes.
The Opportunity
The Project Officer (WIL) will support the planning, coordination, and monitoring of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) projects within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Arts, Business, Education & Law (SABEL). In close collaboration with the Placements, WIL & Industry Liaison Manager, the Project Officer (WIL) will work with academic and professional staff, students, and external partners to ensure WIL projects and partnerships are delivered within scheduled timelines, budget, and in accordance with University policy and relevant legislation.
Key responsibilities include coordinating WIL project activities, providing administrative support for placements, and contributing to the development and maintenance of relationships with industry and community partners to broaden placement and project opportunities. A significant component of the role is conducting data analysis to track progress, identify trends, and offer insights for enhancing the performance and efficiency of WIL programs.
Through project support, reporting, and stakeholder engagement, the Project Officer (WIL) will contribute to the Faculty’s WIL strategic objectives and the enhancement of the overall student experience. While primarily based at the Faculty level, this role will collaborate with Schools across the Faculties to offer WIL support during periods of high demand as may be required.

About You
The successful candidate will possess the following capabilities and experience:
- A degree with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Experience coordinating projects or placements, ideally within WIL, industry engagement, or a similar setting.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the capacity to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
- Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience interpreting data and providing recommendations.
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
