Reporting Line
The Receptionist / Administration Officer reports to the Housing and Homelessness Support Manager.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Welcome and assist clients, visitors, and stakeholders.
- Manage incoming phone calls, emails, and enquiries, ensuring appropriate redirection.
- Provide administrative support to various organisational programs and services.
- Undertake data entry, filing, document management, and general office administration.
- Coordinate office supplies, manage inventory, and oversee reception resources.
- Schedule appointments, meetings, and maintain calendars.
- Support the delivery of Emergency Relief activities and other community support initiatives.
- Maintain a professional, safe, and welcoming reception environment.
- Assist with incoming deliveries, correspondence, and mail distribution.
- Support staff and managers with diverse administrative and operational tasks.
About You
You are an organised and approachable administration professional who enjoys assisting others and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. You are comfortable managing multiple priorities, communicating with individuals from diverse backgrounds, and contributing positively to a busy team environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
You will bring:
- Previous experience in a receptionist, administration, or customer service role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a professional, welcoming approach.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Experience undertaking data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and customer service.
- An understanding of, or willingness to learn about, the community services sector and its role in the Kimberley.
- Experience working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds and a commitment to respectful and culturally sensitive practice.
- Local residency in Broome and a desire to be part of the local community.
Experience in a not-for-profit or community services environment is helpful, but not essential. Integrity, reliability, and the right attitude are most important.
Remuneration and Benefits
The successful candidate will receive:
- SCHADS Award Level 2 salary: $71,570 – $78,111 per year.
- Five (5) weeks of annual leave, including leave loading.
- Employer superannuation contributions.
- Generous and full salary packaging options available through CBB up to $31,800 per year, including remote area salary packaging benefits (subject to eligibility requirements).
