Receptionist - Foodbank

Foodbank SA & NT is seeking a permanent, part-time Receptionist to serve as the initial point of contact for inquiries and to support efficient office operations. This role offers an opportunity to join Australia’s largest food relief organisation, contributing to the provision of food and groceries to those in need within a friendly, collaborative, and innovative team environment. This is a part-time position, requiring 3 days per week, with rostered days to be negotiated. The role is onsite in Pooraka.

About the Role

Foodbank SA & NT is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced candidate for this permanent, part-time Receptionist position. This role presents an exciting chance to join a committed team and contribute to making a difference in people's lives.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Receptionist will be the primary point of contact for clients, members, and external stakeholders visiting or contacting Foodbank SA & NT. The role involves supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the office and providing administrative assistance to the Admin and Finance teams, as well as other teams upon request.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for visitors, external stakeholders, and the public via phone, email, and in person.
  • Assist customers and external stakeholders with inquiries, directing them to the appropriate staff members.
  • Collate and edit the weekly member newsletter.
  • Receive and manage both financial and food donations.
  • Provide general office administration support.
  • Oversee daily office operations, including housekeeping and coordinating general maintenance.

Foodbank SA & NT is the largest food relief organisation in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Established in SA in 2000, we are a not-for-profit, non-denominational, community-based organisation with a vision to end hunger in South Australia and the Northern Territory. Our mission is to efficiently deliver the most good food to the most people. Foodbank SA & NT operates 13 Food Hubs and 7 warehouses, providing food relief to over 150,000 individuals monthly, one-third of whom are children. In the past 12 months, we have sourced sufficient food to provide over 12 million meals to those facing hardship in our community.

About You

The successful applicant will possess previous experience in a reception or customer service role. You will demonstrate exceptional communication skills, an ability to engage with a diverse range of people, and strong organisational and time management skills. You will enjoy working collaboratively within a diverse and friendly team.

A commitment to Foodbank SA & NT’s mission, community service, and the not-for-profit sector is essential.

A current National Police Clearance and First Aid Certificate, or a willingness to obtain them, are essential.
